There are some weddings you’ll never forget. Not because of the timeline or the vendor list, but because of the people.
Cearsten isn’t my sister by blood, but she might as well be. We grew up next to each other. I babysat her, her mom basically adopted me into the family, and over time, she and her sisters became the little sisters I always wanted. (Not that I don’t love my big brother, but sometimes you just need a girl. 💛)
So when Cearsten told me she was marrying her best friend since middle school, I knew this wasn’t going to be just another wedding. It was the wedding of someone who feels like family. And I had the honor of standing beside her and helping bring it all to life.

The Setting: Full Circle Moments
Cearsten and Brandon’s fall wedding was timeless and sentimental — the kind of day that felt layered with family history and heart.
They got married at the Palmer Train Depot, the very same venue where Cearsten’s parents said “I do.” As if that wasn’t special enough, they used the same photographer and DJ her parents had years ago. (Tell me that doesn’t make your heart swell.)
The whole day was a blend of vintage charm and fall coziness: warm colors, thoughtful details, and that grounded, small-town-Alaska kind of magic. Every corner felt intentional, from the handcrafted décor to the tables styled by family and friends who showed up with full hearts and open hands. It truly took a village, and that village delivered.
The Details That Told Their Story
What I love most about weddings like this are the personal touches. The details that make people smile because they mean something.
Cearsten and Brandon named their signature drinks after their dogs (which was an instant crowd favorite 🐾), and it perfectly reflected their fun, down-to-earth personalities.
Then came the money dance, you either love it or you don’t, but let me tell you, this one was a hit. Guests lined up laughing, dancing, and showering the couple with love (and honeymoon funds). By the end, everyone was smiling, and it truly felt like one big family celebration.
The Emotions (and Yes, I Cried)
Being both planner and bridesmaid is a unique kind of emotional whiplash. One minute you’re making sure the vendors are on-time, and the next you’re standing beside your “little sister,” trying not to ruin your makeup as she says her vows.
There were a few times throughout the day when it really hit me. Watching her mom’s proud smile, seeing Cearsten in her dress, realizing this girl I used to babysit was now a wife. Cue all the tears.
It was one of those rare days that remind you exactly why you do this work.

The Heart of It
This wedding wasn’t just beautiful, it was meaningful. It was about legacy and love and the people who show up for you along the way.
Cearsten and Brandon’s day was proof that sometimes the most special weddings aren’t about perfection, they’re about presence. About families who pour their hearts into helping, about small traditions that carry weight, and about the joy that comes when you marry your best friend surrounded by the people who love you most.
To Cearsten and Brandon: thank you for letting me be part of your story. It was an honor to stand beside you on one of the most beautiful days of your lives.
I’m grateful to everyone who showed up for them that day, in big ways and small ones. It was a reminder of how much love it takes to pull a wedding together, and how special it is when it’s done by people who truly care.
This wasn’t just another wedding for me. It was one I’ll carry with me.
